Women of Substance: From Palestine to Malaysia
Women in Palestine are just like women anywhere else. They want love, dignity, respect and security for their family. However, many have had to sacrifice all this and more. In their quest for freedom of their land, they lose theirs.

Speakers:
1. Lora A. Lucero, (Palestine activist from US) retired American lawyer, professor and city planner
2. Ahmed Ayesh Alnajjar, director of International Relations at the Ministry of Education, Gaza
3. Nurul Izzah, Member of Parliament for Permatang Pauh

The screening of "Naila and The Uprising" and this Freedom Talk is organised in collaboration with Viva Palestina Malaysia.

KLPFF2016 is Viva Palestina Malaysia’s 5th Palestine film festival. This annual event showcases a myriad of films and this year’s selection highlights the strength, creativity and unbroken spirit of an entire people. Their relentless struggle for freedom and justice is juxtaposed against ordinary people daring to live against the odds, flourishing in spite of the occupation and stamping their identity through the magic of cinema.
