Alhamdulillah she can now sit indoors , with the completion of Viva Palestina Malaysia's first project in Lebanon , providing lighting for 15 homes of elderly and disabled Palestinian refugees at Burj-alBarajneh and Shatila camps.

Providing Ramadan Food Baskets

Posted in Fund Disbursement

"Gaza is in a state of humanitarian shock, due primarily to Israel’s blockade, supported by the US, the EU and Egypt and now entering its 11th year." Sara Roy, Harvard professor who visited Gaza recently and noted there was now a sense of desperation among the population.

This Ramadan, we had to reach out and do more, for more people.

Alhamdulillah the donors have been kind and generous, and this has been a busy and productive Ramadan for our team, and we have provided:

1. Food baskets for 1,570 poor families in Gaza, the West Bank and Southern Turkey.
2. Iftar for 2,000 people at Al Aqsa
3. Zakat distribution to 230 families which some used to provide Eid clothing for their kids.
4. Outdoor iftar party for 60 orphans.
5. Added funds to our Poor Families Box for emergency cases like medical treatment.
6. Provided 300 cans of milk to babies and toddlers at Khan alshieh camp in Damascus, Syria.

Thank you to all who have donated , may Allah bless you with much more in return.

(Quran 2:261 The parable of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah, is that of a grain (of corn); it grows seven ears, and each ear has a hundred grains. Allah gives manifold increase to whom He wills. And Allah is All-Sufficient for His creatures' needs, All-Knower.)

Our 2017 Ramadan projects

Posted in Fund Disbursement

The absence of funds from the Middle East , esp Qatar, makes this a very tough Ramadan for the people of Gaza, half of whom suffer from food insecurity after 10 crippling years of the siege.

Added to this are the new restrictions on funds entering Gaza from other places.

Though we can't make up this shortfall, alhamdulillah we have raised funds for the following projects in Palestine:
1. Over 1,000 food baskets for poor families all over Gaza, West Bank and PalestinianSyrian refugees in Turkey.
2. Iftar meals for 2,000 at AlAqsa .
3. Small cash gifts of zakat to the needy in Gaza.

Please continue donating as we will be sending funds as they come in inshaaAllah. All contributions can be made to Pertubuhan Viva Palestina Malaysia

'Distributing baby's milk in Syria

Posted in Fund Disbursement

Qudsiya is a village of 4000 families about 20 km away from the capital city, the people who are staying there are originally from Alyarmuk camp.

The residents suffered greatly during the food blockades of 2015 but the area is not under siege anymore.

Viva Palestina Malaysia has distributed cans of milk alongside our medical weeks since 2015.

Medical week at Khan El Shieh, Syria

Posted in Fund Disbursement

Malaysia sends medicines, not bombs!

We got a message midJanuary about Khan el Shieh a refugee camp in Damascus area previously controlled by the rebel fighters and now under siege by the government.

"The camp in very bad situation . yesterday even they ask me if we can do medical week there , long long time no Doctors no medical aid"

On Saturday alhamdulillah we managed to start our medical week . We treated 202 patients on the first day and 220 on the second day. Crowds of people, and there were many children, came seeking help.

Please help us to continue these clinic weeks .

5th mobile clinic in Syria

Posted in Fund Disbursement

This morning we started the fifth medical clinic week in Syria with CAPR using the services of doctors from the Palestinian Red Crescent.

Previous mobile clinics were held at Yarmouk camp but today's clinic was at Khan el Sheikh another refugee camp in the Damascus area under siege by the government.

1800 families still live here at this camp which had come under heavy bombardment last year . The rebel forces have left 4 months ago but the area is still under siege and the people have not had access to medical services for a long time.

We served 202 patients today and have permission to continue for another 4 days.
